David: Welcome back to Dev Talks! I'm David, joined as always by Lisa, and today we have a very special guest.
00:15
Lisa: Super excited about this one. Ryan Florence is joining us—co-creator of React Router and Remix, and one of the most influential voices in the React ecosystem.
00:30
Ryan: Thanks for having me! Always fun to chat about this stuff.
00:38
David: Let's start at the beginning. React Router is used by millions of developers. How did it come about?
00:45
Ryan: It started around 2014. Michael Jackson and I were both building React apps and independently ran into the same routing problems. React didn't have an official router, and the existing solutions felt like they were fighting against React's component model rather than embracing it.
01:30
Lisa: And now it's essentially the default routing solution for React. How does that responsibility feel?
01:45
Ryan: It's humbling, honestly. When we make changes, we know it affects millions of projects. We take backwards compatibility very seriously. But it also means we can push the ecosystem forward—introduce patterns that become best practices.
